              Sigiriya is famous for the b

eautiful frescoes or paintings. Many              visitors from all over the world visit Sigiriya.

About 1500 years ago kind kashyapa killed his father kind Dhatusena and we became the kind. To protect his kindom from his elder brother Moggalana, kashapa moved his kindom from Anuradhapura to sigiriya.He built his paiace on a rock. The entrance to the rock was in the shape of a lion’s head. It s paws can be seen even today. This may be one of the reasons why it is called Sigiriya o Lion Rock.

                                                                           To gat to the top rock there are stone stops carved into it. As you go up, you can see the beautiful shining mirror wall. Early visitors: monks merchants, noblemen and ordinary citizens wrote poems on this wall.

                                                                                                        Inside the rock cave you can see the famous. These are paintings of beautiful maidens carrying trays of flower. People believe that these maidens are goddesses.

          Thank    you   for  your tetter.  you  have  a  sked  me  about  our  sinharaja  rainforest.   It  is  the  first  wold  heritaga  fovest  in  Sri  lanka.   the  forest  at  its  lowest  is  270  metres.   a  bove  the  sea  level.It  highest  point  is  1060 metres.    sinharaja  has 9  hills  of  which  the  tallest  is  hinipitigala, Its  peak  is  1170  metres  high.  Many  steams  start  from  the  high  ground  of  the   sinharaja  and  fall  in  to  bigger  riuers.  there  is a  small  water  fall  called  Duhuvilliella.   thank  you   sinharaja.
